Pune-based Bajaj Auto has secured a permanent injunction against usage of the title 'Hamara Bajaj' in the upcoming Bollywood flick produced by model-turned-actor John Abraham.
Late last week the Bombay High Court passed its order granting permanent injunction against the Abraham-backed bollywood company from using the mark 'Hamara Bajaj' as the movie title or in any other manner and from using the mark 'Bajaj' in the proposed film.
Bajaj Auto, the second biggest two wheeler manufacturer in India, along with Bajaj Electricals moved the High Court in March. A legal notice was sent to Abraham and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, the co-producer of the film, challenging the title.
The proposed film has Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead and is directed by Shoojit Sircar, who also directed Madras Cafe and Vicky Donor, both of which were produced by Abraham.
