As part of their voter awareness programme to keep corrupt persons out from public life, the Jan Sangram Parishat (JSP) has decided to campaign against the 'tainted' politicians. JSP convenor S R Hiremath told reporters here at the weekend that the parishat would campaign against former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, H D Kumaraswamy and Congress leader D K Shivakumar.
He said, the JSP state committee which met here had resolved to organise a campaign asking people to vote against the corrupt and vote for the honest candidates contesting the assembly elections. "It will be a campaign to ensure the presence of clean-handed persons in the public and not an act of revenge against any individual," he said.
Hiremath said, the JSP would call to vote against the Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) and BSR Congress as the heads of these parties were "tainted persons". However, the JSP has lamented that some honest persons including Vyjanath Patil, S K Kantha and Jabbar Khan Honnali have identified themselves with the KJP.
The JSP would write letters to these leaders asking them to quit the KJP and contest the elections as independent candidates.
