Even as increasing number of people are defying their strike call, separatists on Wednesday extended their ongoing shutdown agitation till November 3.

The separatist camp, comprising both factions of Hurriyat Conference and JKLF, called for a march to Jamia Masjid in downtown Srinagar on Friday for ending "military siege" of the historic mosque.

No Friday prayers have been offered at the grand old mosque during the last 15 weeks due to curfew being imposed by the authorities as a precautionary measure to scuttle protests.

The separatists, in a joint statement, asked people to observe complete strike till November 3 but announced relaxation of 17-hours from 5 PM on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Over the last several days, more and more people are defying the strike call by the separatists and trying to pick up threads of their normal life.
