Anti corruption activist Arvind Kejriwal has criticized cancellation of the invitation initially extended to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to speak at the Wharton India Economic Forum following pressure from Wharton School.
Kejriwal criticism of Wharton came in his own address at the Wharton India Economic Forum.
While declaring that he was not a Modi supporter, he said he was 'dismayed’' at the cancellation of his invitation to speak at this forum.
In the rest of his speech he explained reasons why he plunged into politics and started the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that the present lot of politicians would never pass a strong anti corruption law and nothing would change unless good and honest people entered Assemblies and Parliament…he said that the rot in politics was behind the problems in education, health, and every other sector.

"My unease is on three counts. Firstly, to issue an invitation and then cancel it under pressure is not right. It is very wrong. It is unbecoming of an institution carrying the respected Wharton name. Secondly, those who refuse to listen to people they do not agree with, they lose an opportunity to learn and grow. Thirdly, this refusal to let him speak goes against the very principles of free speech we are all fighting for,’’ Kejriwal said.
