Land records updated in 188 villages of Mysuru

Land records of 188 villages in four taluks of Mysuru district have become error-free after corrections.

The 'error-free Pahani' taluks are Hunsur with 1,000 land records, K R Nagar 250, H D Kote and Periyapatna with 400 each, Hunsur sub-divisional officer M K Jagadish said on Monday.

Addressing a revenue adalat at Bilikere in Hunsur taluk, he said K R Nagar taluk office had become the first taluk to complete the process of filling up of forms one to five followed by Hunsur taluk with 10 villages, Periyapatna with 103 villages and H D Kote with 75 villages, in all 188 villages where corrections had been carried out.

In all, 64 Hadis and Thandas have been proposed to the government to be converted into revenue villages in the four taluks. About 350 burial grounds have been declared as general burial grounds under the state government's proposal to have common cemeteries for all sections of the people, the highest being Hunsur sub-division with 112, followed by K R Nagar 108, H D Kote 55 and Periyapatna 75, he added.

Deputy Commissioner C Shikha said steps had been taken to fill up all vacant posts of village accountants in Mysuru district by January 2015. The government had directed officials to conduct revenue adalats at village level itself, to avoid farmers run around offices.

MLA H P Manjunath asked officials to identify land for starting an ITI at Bilikere.
