Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday attacked the ruling LDF and opposition UDF in Kerala, saying the people were fed up with the two fronts and wanted the development agenda of the BJP.

"Enough is enough. The people are telling UDF and LDF. The people of Kerala are seeing the development agenda of the BJP, NDA. They relate with our programmes and policies," Modi said at an election rally at Konni in Pathanamthitta district, where the famous Lord Ayyappa temple is located.

As the political battle in West Bengal intensifies, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of running the state government on a "3T model of Tanashahi, Tolabazi, and Tushtikaran" (dictatorship, extortion, and appeasement).

Earlier in the day, the Election Commission suspended four officials after a video surfaced on social media purportedly showing an EVM being found in a BJP candidate's car in Patharkandi constituency following the second round of polling in Assam.

In the wake of rising Covid-19 cases in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold an "urgent" meeting today with the health minister and officials of concerned departments to prepare an action plan to meet the challenge.

Continuing his attack on the ruling Left and the Opposition Congress-led UDF, Prime Minster Narendra Modi on Friday described the two fronts as twins of misgovernance, corruption and political violence, among others.

 

"UDF and LDF are twins.They are twins of misgovernance, corruption, political violence, communalism, casteism, cronyism, nepotism and more," Modi said addressing his second election rally in Kerala on Friday.

 

Citing the alliance between the Congress and Left parties in West Bengal, he said:"The political picture in West Bengal is clear to everyone.Election after election, Congress and Left are getting closer.The logical step after such closeness is a full merger of Congress and the Left. They can call the new party CCP-Comrade Congress Party."

Stones pelted at Rakesh Tikait's car in Rajasthan's Alwar district

Some people threw stones at a cavalcade of farmer leader Rakesh Tikait damaging his car's rear windshield when he was going to address a rally in Rajasthan's Alwar district on Friday, PTI reported.

 

Tikait was not in his car when the stones were pelted at his cavalcade, Bhiwadi Superintendent of Police Ram Murti Joshi said, adding no one was injured in the incident.

 

Stones were pelted at the cavalcade when it reached Tatarpur chauraha on its way to Tikait's second rally venue, he said, adding the farmer leader addressed two rallies in the district on Friday. Police have detained four persons, including a student leader in this connection, he added.
