The Ashram-DND flyover will reopen for commuters from March 6 (Monday) after two months, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Wednesday. The flyover will allow passengers to bypass three traffic lights between Ashram Chowk and DND, making vehicular movement smoother. Both the carriageways of the Ashram Flyover Road has been closed due to the construction of a connecting road between the Ashram Flyover and New Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) Flyover since January 1, 2023. The 1.5-km-long Ashram flyover connects South Delhi to Noida in Uttar Pradesh. Ashram Chowk is a crucial link between south and central Delhi, as well as Faridabad. The junction links the Mathura Road and the Ring Road (connecting Lajpath Nagar to Sarai Kale Khan as well as the DND flyover). Once the flyover is complete, it will bring relief to commuters travelling from Noida and other parts of Delhi to South Delhi. The inauguration of the flyover will take place after authorities missed two deadlines earlier. The crucial flyover was supposed to reopen for public on Tuesday, but was postponed in light of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's arrest.
