Earthquake of 4.8 magnitude strikes Manipur

An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 on the Richter scale occurred in Manipur, informed the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
The depth of the earthquake was 94 km which occurred at 11:42 pm on Saturday in the East-Southeast of Moirang, Manipur.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:4.8, Occurred on 16-07-2022, 23:42:48 IST, Lat: 24.25 & Long: 94.37, Depth: 94 Km, Location: 66km ESE of Moirang, Manipur, India," NCS tweeted.

Home-buyers duped of Rs 15 crore by builder: Gurugram Police

More than 75 home-buyers were allegedly duped of Rs 15 crore by a real estate firm on the assurance of providing flats, police here said. Savyasachi Infrastructure Private Limited, a company based in the Farrukhnagar area here, had taken money from the victims on the assurance that their flats will be ready within a year but even after four years, the construction work is yet to begin, police said on Saturday.
 
According to police, a residential society by the name of Amaya Greens was to be developed by the company in Sector 3 of Farrukhnagar. The director of the firm, Vijay Rajan, had also appointed sales representatives in the area for sale and promotion.

The central government has called an all-party meet over the ongoing crisis in Sri Lanka on Tuesday, July 19 which will be chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar.

India and China started the 16th round of high-level military talks on Sunday with an aim to resolve the outstanding issues in remaining friction points along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The talks are being held at the Chushul Moldo meeting point on the Indian side of the LAC in the region, official sources said. 
 
Double Olympic medallist P V Sindhu lifted the Singapore Open Super 500 trophy after outwitting China's Wang Zhi Yi in an intense women's singles final on Sunday. Sindhu managed to stay strong in the key moments to come up trumps against the 22-year-old Wang, the reigning Asian Championships gold medallist. The final scoreline read 21-9 11-21 21-15 in the Indian's favour.
