The political resolution passed by the BJP national executive has showered encomiums on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him the "supreme and the most popular leader of not only the country but also of the world" and asserting that India has emerged as a "protector of the world's future" under his leadership.

India getting chairmanship of prestigious international organisations like G20 and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) under Modi's leadership has scripted "new chapters" in the country's history, it said.

In a strong pitch to foreign investors, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that his state is a 'Gateway to India' that promises a stable and booming economy.

Auto Expo 2023 ends with record turnout of over 636k visitors: SIAM

India's flagship motor show Auto Expo 2023 has concluded with a record turnout of over 6.36 lakh visitors, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers said on Wednesday.

The biennial auto show, originally scheduled to be held in 2022 was postponed to this year due to COVID-19 and it witnessed five global launches, and launching and unveiling of 75 products.

Nitish voices displeasure over Bihar 'not getting special status', takes veiled dig at PM Modi

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday took an indirect dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi while voicing displeasure over the Centre's "refusal" to grant special category status to the state.

In a free-wheeling conversation with journalists at Buxar district, which he toured as part of his state-wide mass outreach programme 'Samadhan Yatra', Kumar referred to Modi, formerly his Gujarat counterpart, coming from "a rich state" while accusing the latter of "being oblivious of the needs of poor provinces".

Congress condemns attack on its Tripura in-charge, urges EC to hold violence-free polls

The Congress has condemned an attack on its Tripura in-charge, Ajoy Kumar, during a bike rally in the poll-bound state on Wednesday and urged the Election Commission (EC) to ensure a fair and violence-free Assembly election in the state.

Traffic advisory issued ahead of Republic Day rehearsals in Delhi

In view of upcoming Republic Day rehearsals on January 18, 20 and 21, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory, suggesting alternate routes for commuters.

"In view of #RepublicDay Parade rehearsals on Jan 18th, 20th and 21st, traffic restrictions will be effective on Kartavyapath from 10:15 AM to 12:30 PM. Commuters are requested to avoid the mentioned routes and plan their journey accordingly," traffic police tweeted.

R-Day Parade: 32,000 tickets to be sold online, contingent from Egypt to participate

The Republic Day celebrations this year will take place on the revamped Central Vista avenue, and the government has put 32,000 tickets on sale online for the masses, defence ministry officials said on Wednesday.

For the first time, all official invites for the ceremonial event will be sent online, they said. This will be the first Republic Day celebrations hosted at the ceremonial boulevard after Rajpath was renamed to 'Kartavya Path' last year.

Govt proposes slew of changes to insolvency law

The government on Wednesday proposed a slew of changes to the insolvency law, including fast-tracking the process and expanding the scope of pre-packaged framework.

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), which came into force in 2016, provides for a market-linked and time-bound resolution of stressed assets. The Code has already undergone various amendments.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Anjani Mahajan made the observation while rejecting a closure report filed by the CBI, which had claimed that it could not complete the investigation into a case of alleged forgery because the journalists who published and aired the alleged forged documents refused to disclose the source they received it from.

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday told BharatPe's former Managing Director Ashneer Grover to file an undertaking in a week's time in connection with a suit filed by the fintech company's co-founder Bhavik Koladiya along with an interim application, restraining Grover from creating any third party rights in respect of the shares.

Punjab Congress leader and former state finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal joined the BJP here on Wednesday. Badal joined the party at the BJP headquarters in the presence of various leaders, including Union Minister Piyush Goyal. Earlier in his resignation letter to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Badal said he was "disillusioned" by the party.

The bench said it acknowledged the utility of the platforms that provide free access to knowledge across the globe but also cautioned against using such sources for legal dispute resolution
