TVS Motor plans Rs 300-crore capital expenditure amid Covid-19 pandemic

TVS Motor said it had lined up a capital expenditure of Rs 300 crore and was looking to invest Rs 75 crore in TVS Credit Services in 2020-21.

Delhi STF received over 52,000 complaints till July 15

Over 52,000 complaints from various quarters were received till July 15 by the Special Task Force (STF) constituted to comprehensively oversee effective and proper enforcement of the provisions of the Delhi Master Plan and bye-laws, officials said on Friday.
 
The progress on the complaints received and action taken was reviewed during the 49th meeting of the STF held on Friday. Officers from all local bodies and other agencies attended the meeting.
 
"In total 52,253 complaints have been received by the STF till July 15 and action has been initiated on 45,955," a senior DDA official said.

Sushant case: Bihar team seeks help in probe from Mumbai cops

The Bihar police team, which is here to investigate an "abetment to suicide" case related to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, on Friday sought assistance from their counterparts in Mumbai to probe the matter, an official of the city police said.
 
The visiting team on Friday evening submitted a written application seeking assistance from the Mumbai police in probing the case, he said.

Spirit Airlines warns of layoffs, ExpressJet's fate in doubt

Spirit Airlines has warned up to 30 per cent of its employees that they will lose their jobs in October, and regional carrier ExpressJet's future is in doubt after losing a key contract as the virus pandemic continues to hammer the airline industry.
 
Spirit is the latest airline to deliver layoff warnings to employees, which are required by federal law 60 days before large-scale job cuts.
 
The budget airline based in Miramar, Florida, said it told unions that about 20 per cent to 30 per cent of its pilots, flight attendants and other groups will be furloughed in October.

Latest news today live updates: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has indicated that he will seek a confidence vote when the Assembly convenes next fortnight and claimed that the money offered to the legislators to switch sides had increased sharply ahead of the session.

"The floor test will happen; we are going to the Assembly. The BAC decides this," Gehlot told reporters, referring to the Assembly's business advisory committee.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's dialogue with renowned Bangladeshi economist and Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus was aired on his YouTube channel today. The two were seen discussing ideas to re-shape the post-pandemic world and delve into the limitations of adopting a western economic model.
