Live news updates: Delhi Capitals all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has tested positive for Covid-19 and will isolate for at least a week as per the IPL rules. Marsh is the third member of the Capitals contingent, after physio Patrick Farhart and one of the support staff members, to test positive, espncricinfo.com.

Marsh’s team will wait for tests on Tuesday before a call is taken on their match against Punjab Kings on Wednesday. Delhi Capitals did not travel to Pune on Monday. In a statement, the team said Marsh had been admitted in hospital after testing positive. "The Delhi Capitals medical team is closely monitoring Marsh's condition."

GoM yet to take a view on GST rate rationalisation

A group comprising ministers from states is yet to finalise a report on rationalisation of GST rates and a decision will be taken in due course, PTI reported quoting unnmawed sources. The Group of Ministers (GoM) will deliberate and finalise recommendations which will be sent to the GST Council, headed by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and comprising state finance ministers. The GoM has not taken a view on rate rationalisation, the sources said.

J-K's debt grew to Rs 83,536 cr in 2019: CAG

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has said Jammu and Kashmir’s debt was "not sustainable", standing at Rs 83,536 crore till October 2019. It expressed concern over the government using borrowings to manage consumption. "Using borrowed funds for meeting current consumption and repayment of interest on outstanding loans is not sustainable," said CAG, according to PTI.

Rupee slips to 76.29 against US dollar

The Indian rupee depreciated for the third straight session to close 10 paise lower at 76.29 against the US dollar on Monday, tracking the strength of the greenback overseas coupled with foreign fund outflows. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened lower at 76.41 against the American currency, and shuttled between a high of 76.20 and a low of 76.43.

SC asks states to respond on implementation of RERA rules

The Supreme Court on Monday asked Chief Secretaries of all the States to respond to the queries raised by the Centre on implementation of Real Estate (Regulation and Development) (RERA) Act, 2016 rules in their jurisdiction. The court said the Centre has written to all states seeking information with regard to the agreement of sales rules notified under the RERA Act but only five states have responded, PTI reported.

40 Chinese among 150 people charged with fraudulently becoming directors of Indian firms

The Mumbai Police has filed cases against 150 people, including 60 foreigners, for allegedly violating laws regarding the registration of new companies and for fraudulently becoming directors of Indian companies, said an officer Monday. Cases have been filed against 40 Chinese and nationals from Singapore, the UK, Taiwan, the USA, Cyprus, the UAE, and South Korea. The cases were filed between April 1 to 15.

High Court bail to Ajay Mishra in Lakhimpur Kheri case was myopic: SC

The Supreme Court Monday cancelled bail for Ashish Mishra, son of Union minister Ajay Mishra, in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case and asked him to surrender in a week. The court said the victims of the violence on October 3 were denied “a fair and effective hearing” in the Allahabad High Court which adopted a “myopic view of the evidence."

India's exports rise 37% to $18.8 bn

India's exports increased by 37.01 per cent to $18.79 billion during April 1-14 on the back of healthy growth in sectors like petroleum, gems and jewellery, according to a preliminary data of the commerce ministry. Exports during April 1-14, 2021, stood at $13.72 billion. Imports during the period rose by 12.24 per cent to USD 25.84 billion, the data showed
