Lok Pal Bill referred to select committee

The Rajya Sabha on Monday referred the Lok Pal Bill to a committee of 15 members, which will give its report in the Monsoon session. The Bill, which was introduced in the Rajya Sabha through a supplementary list of business was taken up on the penultimate day of the Budget session. Meanwhile, social activist Anna Hazare on Monday said he would stage a sit-in and his close associates would go on an indefinite fast from July 25 in the capital if the government does not investigate corruption charges against 14 cabinet ministers named by them.
