The issue of violence in Mumbai over Assam riots stalled proceedings in the Lok Sabha for the second consecutive day today as opposition members stormed the Well demanding dismissal of Maharashtra government, leading to adjournment of the House till noon.
As soon as the House met, Shiv Sena and BJP members from Maharashtra trooped into the Well demanding dismissal of the Maharashtra government and a statement from Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.
BJP members were also on their feet supporting them by raising slogans and demanding a statement on Assam riots from Shinde, who visited the strife-torn areas yesterday.
Members of Left parties were also in the Well and waved placards to seek universalisation of public distribution system.

Speaker Meira Kumar tried to take up the Question Hour, but as opposition members were unrelenting she adjourned the House till noon.
Yesterday the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day after uproar over violence in Mumbai over Assam riots.
