Maharashtra’s directorate of technical education (DTE) on March 29, 2017, at 5:00 PM declared the results of Masters in Computer Application (MCA) common entrance test (CET) 2017 on its official website. The examination was held on March 19, 2017, in online mode.
The exam was held to select candidates for admissions to first year/direct second year (separate division & lateral entry) of three-year full-time postgraduate degree course in MCA programme. Candidates will be enrolled at
1. All government institutes offering MCA course
2. All government aided institutes offering MCA course
3. All university departments offering MCA course
4. University managed institutes offering MCA course, and
5. All un-aided MCA institutes covered as per the act, provided they are approved and recognised by the government of Maharashtra and are affiliated to any of the non-agricultural university in the state.
DTE had earlier said the results would be announced on March 27, but postponed the same by two days.

About MAH MCA CET 2017
For the entrance test, candidates had to attempt a 200-marks paper divided into two sections: General Aptitude and Computer Concepts. Each section was for 100 marks each. Candidates were allowed 90 minutes to answer the paper with four marks for each correct answer and one mark deducted for each wrong answer.

Government of Maharashtra has established a State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET CELL) under Admission Regulating Authority (ARA) as per the provision in Section 10 of Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015,
The Commissioner of State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State, shall be the authority for Centralised Admission Process (CAP) and shall direct the students as per their allotment through CAP to all institutions. The admission process will start in June 2017. DTE is yet to announce the dates for the same. Candidates are advised to keep the necessary original documents ready for verification at the time of Document verification stage during CAP.
