Even as she continues to attack the Centre over setting up of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), UPA ally and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is slated to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to urge him to expedite specific projects like the Gorkha Territorial Administration pact for the benefit of the state. Significantly, the PM on Tuesday wrote to Banerjee as well as six other chief ministers (Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Gujarat, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh) assuaging their concerns stating that the purpose of the NCTC was to “coordinate counter-terrorism efforts across the country”.
