Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said the judicial enquiry into the Mathura incident will look into all aspects of violence that broke out during the anti-encroachment drive early this month and assured the families of the two slain police officers of all help.

"I hope the judicial enquiry will look into all aspects of the incident... Whatever the government can do (for the families of the slain cops), it will do. We will fully cooperate with their families," he told reporters after meeting the families of the policemen killed in the incident in Mathura on June 2.

Yadav urged the political parties to not politicise the issue, saying, "We don't politicise it when such incidents happened in their states."

"Action will be taken for any lapses which are found during the judicial enquiry," the chief minister said.

It is "unfortunate" that such an incident happened in Mathura, he added.

Twenty-nine people, including City Superintendent of Police Mukul Dwivedi and Farah police station officer Santosh Yadav, were killed in clashes during a drive to evict illegal occupants, believed to be of Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik, from Jawahar Bagh in Mathura on June 2.

The UP government has already announced a compensation of Rs 50 lakh each to the kin of two slain police officers.
