With assembly polls in focus, former minister in the Narendra Modi government, Gordhan Zadafia, who has now parted ways with the BJP and floated his own party, on Monday announced state-wide agitation June 25 and said that a third front was emerging in Gujarat.
Zadafia who constituted his own party Mahagujarat Janta Party (MJP) four years ago, was minister of state for home in the Modi government during the 2002 riots.
"There is apparent dissatisfaction among BJP workers which also included former MPs and MLAs, because of the the present leadership in the party," Zadafia said.
"Many leaders from the ruling BJP are meeting us and are concerned about the deteriorating ideology of party's Gujarat unit," he said. "The third front is emerging strongly in Gujarat and we are hopeful of giving an alternative to the people of the state other than BJP and Congress," he added.
