Claiming that the UPA government was having a friendly attitude towards Pakistan, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi hit back at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh accusing of 'misleading' the nation over the issue of Sir Creek.
Campaigning for the second phase of elections in Kutch and North Gujarat regions, Modi warned the Prime Minister against the giving of Sir Creek to Pakistan.
He further said that in reply to his letter on Sir Creek issue, Prime Minister's Office gave him ''no answers".
The Prime Minister's Office had on Wednesday alleged that Modi was trying to influence voters during his election by suggesting that the Indian government was on the verge of acquiescing to Pakistan's claim on Sir Creek. Modi had in a letter to the Prime Minister had said, "I would earnestly request you to stop this dialogue with Pakistan at once and Sir Creek should not be handed over to Pakistan." To which Prime Minister's Office (PMO) retorted, "Modi has written his letter without making any efforts to ascertain the facts from the Government of India."
Warning about giving away Sir Creek, Modi vowed that giving Sir Creek would be a sell out of Indian interests and a threat to national security. He said that he did not wish to rake up the issue at this time.
"But when it came to light that there is a meeting on December 15, where even members from Sindh were coming as a part of the Pakistan delegation and that this was likely to be the last meeting on the issue, he was left with no option but to express his views."

Modi further claimed that with the CWG scam the UPA sold Indian sports, with 2G scam they sold country's technology. While UPA has sold the nation’s coal too, now it was selling the nation itself, the chief minister alleged. He also alleged that the arrogance of the Congress was sky-high and that they are not bothered about the people. This explains why the leaders of the party did not speak a word on price rise despite failing to fulfill their promise of bringing down in 100 days.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s comments that he only hears one name in Gujarat, Modi said that for years all the nation heard is the name of the Nehru family and that if any other name is taken, the Congress feels disturbed. “Rahul Baba, my father was not the Prime Minister of India. He was not even the Sarpanch of a village. This is not the voice of one person but the voice of the people,” Modi added.
