A Naxal who was allegedly involved in extortion and provides logistics for CPI(Maoist) was today arrested in a joint operation by Bihar Police and CRPF in East Champaran district. Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations), Rajiv Kumar, who led the raid, said the arrested Naxal has been identified as Chandrika Sah. He was arrested from Chandrika village in the district.

"Sah was wanted by the police for the last few years. His house was raided during the Lok Sabha elections last year but he managed to escape leaving behind firearms, ammunition, Naxal literature and levy (extortion) receipts," Kumar said. The ASP said Sah besides extorting people, also supplied arms and ammunition, and took care of logistics for the red ultras. He is being interrogated by police and CRPF, Kumar said.
