The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the result for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) both phase 1 (All India Pre Medical/ Pre Dental Entrance Test aka AIPMT) & phase 2 (NEET 2). The result is available at cbseresults.nic.in.

The organising board was directed by the Supreme Court to announce the results online on or before August 17. So the result was originally scheduled to be announced on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. But CBSE pleasantly surprised the candidates by announcing it a day in advance.

Reportedly, over 7 lakh aspirants had been awaiting the results. Held on May 1, 2016, AIPMT aka NEET 2016 phase 1 saw around 6 lakh candidates appear for the exams. NEET 2, held on July 24, 2016, received a total of 4.75 lakh applications. Of the total, there were only around 1.3 lakh (30%) fresh applications and the rest were candidates who had appeared in NEET 1 and were allowed to retake the exams. The successful candidates will be vying for 15% all India quota seats in India’s top ranking colleges.

The NEET 2016 result sheet/ rank cards will not be dispatched. Candidates will have to get a printout of their result/rank card from the website only. It is important to note that there’ll only be one mark-sheet, even if the candidate appeared for both phases. The NEET phase 1  & 2 results and more information will also be available on www.aipmt.nic.in.
