Congress leader and former Maharashtra chief minister Narayan Rane on Monday denied that either he or his family members held accounts in HSBC, Geneva.
“Neither my wife, my children nor me have any foreign accounts,” he said.
Rane was reacting to a media report that wife Neelam and son Nilesh are among a few HSBC account holders with political connections. A former Shiv Sena leader, Rane joined the Congress in 2005 and was a senior minister in the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party government. He was defeated in the election to the Assembly in October last year.
