The Supreme Court on Friday rejected the plea of Nitish Katara's mother for conferring the death sentence on his murderers.

The apex court also held that Katara's murder wasn't an honour killing.

"I was surprised that the apex court said it wasn't an honour killing. I am bit surprised on that, we will submit the evidences once again with more facts next time," Neelam Katara  said after the apex court gave its verdict.

"This is no more a fight of Nitish Katara. It is now a fight against honour killing and honour crimes," she added.

Neelam also added that she expected the apex court to pass an order against honour killing, but it didn't happen.

"I am disappointed but this fight would against honour killing would continue," she added.
