 "No naxal threat in Telangana, says state home minister")
Telangana home minister N Narasimha Reddy today said there was no immediate threat from naxalites in the state and added it had so far not received any serious alert from the Centre on the possible spurt in their activity.
“Things are very peaceful in Telangana. As per the available intelligence, there is no threat from naxal activity and the Centre has not sounded any alert with respect to the state,” he said.
He said there was no reason for the naxals to expand their base here as “the chief minister was implementing schemes, which are in line with the popular socialist measures like providing land, compulsory pensions to the economically weak and backward sections among other welfare measures.”
The minister today witnessed the passing-out parade of the 12th batch sub-inspector/executive (departmental entry) comprising 116 officer-cadets of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the National Industrial Security Academy.
