Realising that it doesn’t have the required numbers on the floor of the House to defeat the United Progressive Alliance government, the BJP has said it is not the job of the Opposition to bring down the Union government and, also, it will not bring no-confidence motion. BJP leaders are of the view they should only work to make people aware of implications of the policy decisions taken by the Union government, especially allowing foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail, hike in diesel prices and capping of LPG cylinders, and not get into a number’s game in which it knows it will not succeed.
