Manchester United on Tuesday confirmed that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has signed a five-year deal with the Old Trafford club with the option to extend for a further year.

The 23-year-old, who left United in 2012 due to lack of playing opportunities under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, agreed the deal for a world record fee of 110 million euros, the Guardian reported.

United completed this summer high-profile transfer after Pogba flew to Manchester for a medical exam.

Reflecting on his comeback to Old Trafford, Pogba said that he was looking forward to working with Jose Mourinho and added that United was the right club for him achieve everything I hope to in the game.

This is Mourinho's fourth signing since he replaced Louis van Gaal at the helm of United.

Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were the other players who were added to bolster the squad this summer.

United will kick start their Premier League season at Bournemouth on Sunday.
