Certificate verification of candidates for the Eamcet 2014 admission will start from tomorrow across 34 helpline centres (HLCs) in Andhra Pradesh. However, those seeking entry in Telangana state (TS) colleges would have to wait for a few more days.

The Eamcet admission committee, which today held a joint meeting with the officials of both Telangana and Andhra, said the Phase-I certification verification across 23 HLCs in Telangana, including Hyderabad, would be initiated by August 10.

In the meeting, Telangana government officials said the government was keen on completing the entire exercise by August-end and also schedule classes from September, a point stressed upon by the Supreme Court recently.

Speaking to Business Standard, Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) secretary K Sateesh Reddy said the Telangana government officials in the meeting said some of the polytechnic colleges here were not fully ready to start the admission process.

Officials of the polytechnic colleges union said they had received the resolution of the Telangana government's last meeting on admissions only on August 5, and were unable to take up certificate process at a short notice.

However, a few private colleges here said the Telangana government was keen on final hearing by the SC on August 11 before taking any decision.

The Telangana government in the aftermath of SC’s ruling this week has assured students in the state not to worry as it was aware of their concerns.
