Plastivision expects Rs 6,000 cr worth biz during 5-day expo

The Association of Plastics Manufacturers (AIPMA) expects the upcoming five-day international plastics exhibition and conference would provide business opportunities worth Rs 6,000 crore across 500-600 deals for the plastic product manufacturers in the country.

"Countries including the US, UK, China, Germany, Singapore and Taiwan will be here with their delegations. They are interested in Indian products and machinery. Some of the firms might even look for technology partners besides forming joint venture," said Raju D Desai, chairman, Plastivision India 2013.

To be held in Mumbai from December 12-16, the largest-ever fair of AIPMA, Plastivision 2013, will see participation of over 1,500 exhibitors from 45 countries. The event mainly comprises live demonstrations of machines for moulds, packaging, printing and product. It will also display processed finished products in segments including packaging, automobile, engineering, infra, agriculture. This year, it will have a dedicated job fair helping industry to identify qualified candidates.

The association today urged the Andhra Pradesh government to expedite the proposed plastics park near Hyderabad. It would accommodate 2,000 manufacturing units spread across 1,000 acres. The state annually consumes 370,000 tonne plastic products.
