Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi Friday held discussion with the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) allies to find ways to break the logjam in parliament over various issues.

The meeting was held in the Parliament House complex after repeated disruptions by the opposition parties over issues related to the coal blocks and 2G spectrum allocations.

"The UPA chairperson and prime minister just had a meeting with the UPA allies and discussions were centered around the non-functioning of parliament and some unacceptable demands made by the opposition," Parliamentary Affairs Ministry Kamal Nath told reporters here.

He added that the discussion focused on how to break the logjam to ensure the normal functioning of parliament.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has said that it won't let parliament function till Prime Minister Manmohan Singh resigns over his office's alleged involvement in the irregularities in the coal blocks and 2G spectrum allocations.
