The Punjab government has decided to increase the state agreed price (SAP) of sugarcane by Rs 5 a quintal for the crushing season 2014-15, as compared with last year .
With the current decision of the state government, the SAP of early, medium and late varieties of sugarcane will now be Rs 295, Rs 285 and Rs 280 a quintal, respectively.
The state government had fixed SAP of early, medium and late varieties of sugarcane at Rs 290, Rs 280 and Rs 275 a quintal, respectively, for the crushing season of 2013-14.
