Rajkot takes guard as Hardik threat looms over India-South Africa ODI

With the Patidar leader threatening disruption mobile Internet has been banned in the city till 6 am tomorrow and Section 144 has been imposed

Rajkot district administration is bracing up for the India South Africa One Day International(ODI) as the city has been literally transformed into fortress as Patidar leader Hardik Patel continues to issue threats to disrupt the match.

The Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti and Patidar Navnirman Sena leader Patel has threatened to not let cricketers enter the grounds. 

District Collector Manisha Chandra has issued prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code to stop protesters from creating any disruptions during the match. She has said that the administration will not allow anyone to wear t-shirts, pants, banners with slogans or writing that indicates any kind of protest. 

As the situation heats up, the administration has taken steps to ban internet in Rajkot from till 6 am on Monday. Over 2,100 security personnel have been deployed at the stadium to ensure the match takes place peacefully.
