In a rare gesture aimed at bridging the gap between the VIPs and the common folks, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh became a 'personal guide' for around hundred children from Chhattisgarh's Naxal-infested Kondagaon region and took them for a tour of his residence.

He was seen discussing about trees and birds with the children, studying in 6th, 7th and 8th standard.

The children, who hail from highly naxal affected district of Bastar, were invited to spend two days in Raipur.

The group from Kasturba Vidyalay and Bal Ashram, comprising mainly of girls, were taken to the science city and the planetarium. They were also taken to a shopping mall and to watch a movie.

Ironically, 17 of these children are orphans and most of them have left their native villages for the first time.
