'We will meet the MoS, DoPT Secretary and Cabinet Secretary. We will ask them to intervene in the matter and revoke suspension of the IAS officer. We will also seek necessary safeguards in All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1969, for an officer,' said Reddy, who is working as Joint Secretary in Agriculture Ministry.

The Association is the central body of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers which has at present has about 4,737 member (equal to the number of officers of the elite service).

The Association has already met Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh and urged him to revoke Nagpal's suspension.

Nagpal, a 2010 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, was suspended on July 27 ostensibly for ordering demolition of wall of a mosque allegedly without following the due process.

The young IAS officer, whose cadre was changed to Uttar Pradesh from Punjab in August last year, is at present attached to the Board of Revenue in Lucknow.

28-year-old Nagpal, as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Gautam Budh Nagar, had cracked down on sand mafia active in that area.
