In a major setback to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, a Mumbai court Monday rejected his review plea challenging a magistrate's order for a re-trial in the 2002 hit-and-run case under the stringent charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The actor has been given one month's time to appear before the court and face the trial in the case.
If convicted, he could face a 10-year jail sentence.
The actor's SUV ran over pavement dwellers in suburban Bandra in the early hours of Sep 28, 2002, killing one and injuring four others.
