Expressing dissatisfaction over the probe done by Uttar Pradesh Police in a case of murder, allegedly committed by a man who is also an accused in a Muzaffarnagar riots case, the Supreme Court today handed over the investigation to CBI.
A bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra handed over the probe to the central agency after it was informed police have not been able to arrest the main accused in the case, Praveen alias Billu.
The court passed the order on a petition filed by Suresh Pal, whose daughter was allegedly killed by Praveen on a canal dispute.
