South Central Railway (SCR) has launched a new app for Android-based smartphones – TADAAST (Train Arrival Departure And Amenities at Stations) – to provide live information on train services.
“The app is aimed at disseminating information on the current status of arrivals and departures of trains on a live basis, and also details of various passenger facilities provided at 25 identified major stations of SCR,” said PK Srivastava, general manager of SCR.
Besides incorporating scheduled timetable and locations of a station with route via Google Maps exclusively for each of the 25 stations in the app, the SCR has included detailed station layouts with icons showing the specific location of passenger amenities for Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Kachiguda stations. The data in the app can be seen in English, Hindi and Telugu.
The Android version of this app was released in February 2014. HYLITES provides real-time information on the running of MMTS trains over 26 stations in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
