Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Saturday hoped that the situation in the troubled Kashmir Valley will soon return to normal as the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir government are moving forward in the right direction with "absolute" coordination.

The Valley has been witnessing unrest for the last 49 days following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani on July 8.

"There is absolute coordination between the Centre and the state and therefore, we are moving in the right direction. I am sure very soon things will return to normal in the Valley," he told reporters here.

Singh, Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office, had earlier said that common man in the streets of Srinagar does not approve of violence but there are a handful of people sponsored by foreign agencies who are triggering violence in the state.

As many as 68 people, including two police personnel, have been killed and several thousands injured since July 9.
