The Karnataka government has nominated city-based educationist and social activist U T Ifthikar Ali as a senate member of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru.
Ali had earlier served in the RGUHS as academic council member, syndicate member and a member of the board of studies, a release here said. He would have a three-year term in the Senate.
A professor with the M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy here, Ali is also the executive president of Karnataka state physiotherapy federation.
He is a master of physiotherapy (MPT) from M V Shetty College, Rajiv Gandhi University in 2003 and had got his pre-PhD from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Ali is the brother of Karnataka Health Minister U T Khader.
