 "South Delhi casino charging Rs 5 lakh as entry busted, 36 arrested")
Over the weekend, the Delhi Police busted an illegal casino running in south Delhi's posh Sainik Farms area and arrested 36 people, including businessmen, while seizing gambling chips worth Rs 1.36 crore.
This is one of the biggest arrests in recent times.
"Many of the arrested persons belong to reputed business families of Gurgaon, Faridabad and Delhi," he said, adding that among those held include players, table attendants and proprietors.
The farmhouse in a secluded corner of Sainik Farms would transform into a full-fledged casino after 10pm, catering to a high-profile clientele of south Delhi businessmen, reported Times of India.

1. No less than 19 players (mostly businessmen), five organisers and 12 staff members have been arrested.

3. Seized items included 23 bottles of foreign liquor, 11 luxury vehicles, and chips worth Rs 1.36 crore.
4. Two separate cases under the Delhi Gambling Act and Delhi Excise Act have been registered at Neb Sarai police station.
5. A special coin was used as an identity card for members. The person, who introduced a new member, got a free coin to encash at the counter.
6. A joint police team of Neb Sarai and Malviya Nagar here has conducted a raid at J-255, Sainik Farms after they got a tip-off.
7. At least 250 packets of playing cards, spinning balls, and other tools used in casino were seized.
8. Police will take steps to seal the property under the provisions of Delhi Gambling Act.

Police have also sought assistance from the intelligence department to collect information about places where gambling is organised during Diwali.
The ACPs and SHOs of all the police stations in Delhi have been instructed to keep a tight vigil since Diwali is the time when gambling sees a spurt.
