Two minor girls were killed after being struck by lightning in separate incidents in Pratagarh district, as the initial phase of Southwest Monsoon remained normal over Uttar Pradesh.
The incidents took place yesterday in which 13-year-old Kriti was killed in Semra village of Udaipur area, while 16-year-old Ranjana was killed after lightning struck her in Revriha village yesterday, police said.
Chief amount of rainfall was recorded in Lalitpur at 7 cm, 6 cm in Mahrauni and Rasra each. Mauranipur received 5 cm of rainfall, it said.
The weatherman has predicted heavy rains and thundershowers at many places over the eastern region of the state tomorrow.
