The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd is introducing ‘Subhamangala’, an exclusive tourist train, covering religious and historical destinations in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
The Subhamangalam Yatra Special Tourist Train will depart Bangalore October 25 on a 10-day tour, taking tourists to Bijapur, Solapur, Phandarpur, Aurangabad, Shirdi, Badami and Hampi. It will return on November 3. Pilgrims can board the train at Bangalore, Guntakal and Gadag.
P Sam Joseph, Chief Regional Manager – Tourism, said in a release today the train will have three packages – standard, comfort and deluxe – costing Rs 8,190, Rs 17,730 and Rs 23,850 per person respectively.
Consisting of 13 coaches, it will have seven sleeper coaches, two 3-Tier AC coaches, one 2-Tier AC coach and one pantry car, with a capacity for 650 passengers. Besides catering vegetarian food, it will include tour escorts, security and public address system.
