Governor of Tamil Nadu Ch Vidyasagar Rao visited Apollo Hospital, Chennai, on Saturday, where Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is undergoing treatment for the last one month. This is the second time the Governor is visiting the hospital after the Chief Minister was admitted on September 22.
A press release from Raj Bhavan informed that the Governor visited the hospital and had discussions with Pratap C Reddy, chairman of Apollo Hospitals about the treatment being given to the Chief Minister. Reddy appraised the Governor that Jayalalithaa continues to be under treatment and observation for all vital parameters, respiratory support and passive physiotherapy and she is interacting and responding to the treatment.
The Governor was "happy to note that the Ho'ble Chief Minister is progressing well," said the release.
He was also informed that Jayalalithaa is being treated by a team of experts consisting of doctors from Critical Care Group of Apollo Hospitals, senior cardiologist, senior respiratory physician, senior consultant, infectious diseases, endocrinologist, diabetologist and dieticians.
The Governor was assisted by various ministers including O Panneerselvam, minister for finance, who is also in charge of Jayalalithaa's portfolios in the government, P Thangamani, minister for electricity, S P Velumani, miniser for municipal administration and rural development, C Vijaya Baskar, minister for Health and Family Welfare, along with administrative heads and Jayalalithaa's advisor Sheela Balakrishnan.
