TN to distribute 1.1 million laptops; sets aside Rs 1100 cr

The Tamil Nadu government will distribute 1.1 million laptops to students in the next two years and the state government would spend Rs 1,100 crore for it this fiscal.

According to an official announcement, the state government in the next two years would annually distribute 550,000 laptops.

Under the free laptop scheme, the state government had so far distributed 2.11 million laptops spending around Rs 2,782 crore.
