The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) is in the process of amending its Conduct of Business Regulations (CBR), 2004, to include a provision under which a single member can be considered as a quorum.
The draft amendment, which the Commission has now put forward for public discussion, comes at a time when it has received its second member to fill the quorum according to the existing regulation. It was left with only one member for around six months in 2013.
The regulation 12 of the CBR says that except for initial procedural issues like notices, filing of copies and documents, the quorum of the Commission shall be two.
