Venkaiah Naidu, Kerala CM among stream of visitors to Jayalalithaa

All of them say the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is progressing well and will be discharged soon

VVIPs continue to visit Apollo Hospital at Chennai, where Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has been admitted since September 22.

The Governors of Kerala and Puducherry Governors visited the chief minister , as did Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Union Minister Venkiah Naidu.

After the visit, Kerala Governor P Sathasivam said that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is likely to be discharged soon from hospital.

"All the specialist doctors informed us that there is good response to the treatment and she is likely to be discharged soon and will take over the administration of the state," Sathasivam told the media.

The Kerala Chief Minister echoed these views, saying both he and the Governor had decided to come to convey the best wishes of the people of his state, for a speedy recovery.

Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Kiran Bedi also visited Apollo Hospitals to enquire about Jayalalithaa's health. She tweeted saying she had met Apollo Hospitals Chairman Pratap C Reddy who said Jayalalithaa is responding.

Meanwhile Union Minister M Venkaiah Nadu told reporters in Chennai that only the ruling AIADMK party has to decide on 'Acting Chief Minister' or 'Deputy Chief Minister' till Jayalalithaa recovers.

Naidu said Jayalalithaa is on her way to recovery and there is no need to believe on baseless rumours about her health. He added, the Chief Minister is responding well to treatment.

He said he made a courtesy visit to Raj Bhavan and met Tamil Nadu Governor Ch.Vidyasagar Rao.

On Saturday, Apollo Hospitals had said Jayalalithaa was under constant monitoring by intensivists and consultants in the panel. The hospital management said the Chief Minister needs a longer stay at the hospital as she is suffering from infection and is on respiratory support.

"The respiratory support is closely watched and adjusted. Lungs decongestion treatment is being continued. All other comprehensive measures including nutrition, supportive therapy and passive physiotherapy are underway," the hospital said.
