The Young Entrepreneurs Summit (YES), a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, organised by the industries department in association with the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), will be held on September 12 at the Adlux International Convention Centre, Karukutty, near here.
The summit will have seven sessions spanning from agriculture and food processing, tourism, business innovation and green technology, healthcare and life sciences, electronics and digital media, manufacturing and information technology.
Over 2,000 aspiring entrepreneurs, successful entrepreneurs, innovators and young prospective investors are expected to participate.
Chief minister Oommen Chandy will address the evening session titled 'Inspiring Young Minds'.
There will be separate initiatives to promote women entrepreneurship as well as promoting green and clean business initiatives.
The corporation is also in the process of launching an incubator facility for life sciences and separate business incubation centres at Kochi and Kozhikode across all industry verticals.
The YES, a start-up programme, is a key initiative identified under the Mission 676 action plan of the state government.
As part of the Emerging Kerala conclave in 2012, the government had announced a Student Entrepreneurship Policy.

Prior to the event, an 'Innovative Idea' contest across all sectors was carried out wherein the top three ideas will be given certificates and prize money of Rs 1 Lakh, Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively and another seven ideas will be awarded Rs 25,000 each. A total of 518 entries were received.
