A sub-committee on gas allocation has recommended that the government should allocate gas to new applicants only if their infrastructure was ready to draw the gas immediately. In other cases, only fallback allocations should be made with a definite time schedule for starting the drawl of gas. The sub-committee was set up by the gas linkage committee to recommend guidelines for gas allocation.
