'ADB projects offer good business prospects'

The Export Import Bank of India in association with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) organised a seminar on 'Business opportunities in Asian Development Bank-funded Projects' here on Thursday.
 
Speaking at the seminar, Cesar T Valbuena, procurement specialist of ADB, said that participation in the projects funded by multilateral agencies like ADB would offer good business prospects for Indian exporters.
 
He explained the procurement methods and other procedures followed by the ADB in awarding contracts. Omar H Tiwana, senior consulting services specialist, ADB, said that India had emerged as an important player in global consultancy services and the country's foreign exchange earnings from the export of these services had registered robust increase in recent years.
 
Vijay Krishna Reddy, regional head of Exim Bank, Hyderabad, said projects funded by multilateral funding agencies such as ADB would present attractive business opportunities for turnkey project exporters, suppliers, and manufacturers, among others.
 
India is the fourth largest borrower from ADB with a cumulative borrowing of $14.5 billion.
