'Centre to introduce Equal Opportunities Commission bill'

The Union Government would introduce a bill in the winter session of Parliament establishing 'Equal Right Opportunities Commission' (EOC), to facilitate opportunities to individuals over not getting their due in institutions.        

Salman Khurshid, Union Minister of State for Corporate and Minority Affairs said that this EOC is a major step towards doing away with majority/minority and public/private sector divides.        

Addressing a seminar at Osmania University on the subject 'Muslim Minority Status in Andhra Pradesh', Khurshid said his ministry is contemplating provide jobs to Muslims by offering the private sector various sops on the lines of SEZs and subsidies.        

The minister listed out a series of measures extended to minorities by the UPA government and assured more efforts in uplifting the economy.        

Later talking to reporters, Khurshid added the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) had confirmed clear violation of company law act by the Satyam and after completion of Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax probe, legal proceedings will be launched against the former promoters.
