Emphasising on the importance of good relations with Germany, Ajay Shankar, secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry said, “Indian entrepreneurs have very large scope of business in Germany, which is one of the greatest manufacturing nations in the world,” adding that we are now beginning to discover the enormous potential in partnership between two great countries.
Singh was speaking at the business meeting organised by Confederation of Indian Industry.
Fritz Schramma, Mayor of the City of Cologne, Germany said: “Cologne, being one of the biggest business hubs in Europe, has many advantages as business or industrial location for Indian entrepreneurs and businessmen.”
Cologne has about 3.1 million population, with GDP of euro 100 billion and over 1.1 million job avenues, according to statistics given by Schramma.
Kiran Malhotra, managing director, Alliance and president, Indo-German Business Forum said: “Despite all the recent economic and financial problems worldwide, India has enough momentum and fundamental micro-economic strength to share a thriving business relation with Germany.”
