The Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, on Sunday expressed the hope that the Tibetans living in exile in India would soon go back to Tibet and join their brethren.

"They do not mind uniting with China," he said. The Dalai Lama became emotional seeing thousands of Tibetans sobbing after he announced that the 30th world Kalachakra-2006 tantrik empowerment congregation came to an end.

Throughout his speech, he profusely thanked the state government for the help and assistance it gave for the success of the Kalachakra.

He said the world was fast changing and hoped for the day when Tibet and China worked together.

At the end of the Kalachakra, the number of monks or people who had received Kalachakra empowerment from the Dalai Lama to enter mandala of the Buddhahood during the last three days, remained a mystery. It is said that the number was upward of 50 and three or four types of empowerments took place depending up the enlightenment status of the Lama gurus.

The Dalai Lama on Sunday led the congregation through a series of intricate visualisations. He first performed Hrudaya Sutras to get rid of hindrances for empowerment.

The Dalai Lama said qualified Mahayana gurus and disciples had been selected for the Kalachakra tantric empowerment.

"The gurus have control over body, speech, and mind. They are intelligent, patient, and undeceitful. They know mantras and tantras. The disciples have also experienced the three principal aspects of the Mahayana path: renunciation of samsara, bodhichitta, and emptiness," he said.
